I just saw a photo of a fingerprint inclusion in an old post with no mention of it being flux filled or dyed:

I also uploaded the attachment here.

This is what I just saw in an unheated sapphire I just examined. There was this sticky dark blue dyed appearance in just a part of the healed fracture and yes the fracture did reach the surface.

The same customer had a very light toned unheated pink sapphire. Again apparent healed fracture reaching the surface with a sticky dark pink finger print formation in a small part of total whitish fingerprint.

Here are two questions.

Are all fingerprint inclusions whitish?

Were these sapphires dyed? They were not cobalt treated or glass filled - no bubbles.

Thank you very much for your input. Happy holidays!
