I sent one of the stones for an XRD test. The result showed that the sample did not contain gold but contained a large amount of Cr,Mn and Fe.So, could the inclusions be Chromite or some type of unknown mineral?

I had someone did a SED/EDS analysis on the specimens.
The results suggest that the yellow inclusions should be Gold, and the silver inclusions should be Cannizzarite.
( some of the Au in the results are from the Gold coating they did before the analysis)

OK...so can we presume this is a man made artificial product?

No, there is no evidence that can prove the specimen is man-made.They also tested the stone itself , it consists of O and Si(6.78%AU is from the gold coating). And the double refraction is real, not ADR, because I have to use a polarizer filter to take the micro pics , otherwise the images will be doubled.

Conversely, there is no evidence to prove it is not.

Where was this deposit found?
What does it look like before it was polished?
What minerals are associated?
What would make Au form an acicular habit?
Why is it that YOU are the only person to report on this material?

Sorry, I'm not even close to being convinced.

Separating natural from synthetic quartz can be very difficult. It is not a task for the average jewelry store/gemology lab, nor non gemstone specific institutions

Like Barbara, and I suspect the industry at large, it will require an explicit determination from one of the World's big labs stating natural origin. The inclusions in the samples you are presenting would be of interest to the labs whether the samples turn out to be natural, or some type of synthetic or treated stone. I encourage you to submit to the G.I.A. for study and a report. I would also like to see a credible expert visit the source if it is a natural occurrence.

Until these minimum requirements are met I will not accept these as natural gemstones. Once met, I will have to own some.... :P

There are many here who would be happy to assist you in doing this.

Thank you all.
The specimens are indeed odd, your suspicions are understandable.
Though I have no doubt that they are natural quartz, I know I still need to do more to prove it.
I've already contacted GIA, just haven't got the reply yet.

"Why, yes. Yes, I do!" I say with a very sophisticated British royal accent.

Today I went to the San Mateo Gem and Mineral Show.
And guess what caught my eye? An entire table filled with these these specimens. Linear foil, foil globs, combo.

The owner of the booth, from India said that's where he has them made.
2 pieces of quartz are epoxied together with foil in between.
He offered, gold color, silver color and black color.

The foil is just metallic "foil" . No precious gold, silver, etc.

Every size and shape imaginable. All were mounted in sterling, plated with black rhodium.
I had to have one for my box of tricks.
$4.20 OK, I'll skip coffee later.

Those are imitations of rutiled Quartz, I've seen them before ,they are quite easy to identify.

My friend, no, these are exactly what you have posted.

The one I purchased was linear. I thought it moderately attractive. Every variety was there, as I said earlier.

Mystery solved.

This is what you have.

PS. I didn't just roll of a turnip truck. I have been an employed geologist, gemologist, fine jewelry appraiser and jewelry historian for 40 years.

I just look much younger. :D

They are different, I'll list out the differences , with photos.

Epoxy bubbles.

Actually ,those are quite common inclusions in natural quartz ,they might look like Bubbles in glass or epoxy, but they are not.
I got this big quartz specimen with radioactive inclusions(not something that can be faked by glass or epoxy), It also has those bubble-like inclusions.
