I too like the blue light. But then I always like fluorescence effects.

Origin unknown. Corundum. Verified via hardness test. In a parcel of unheated stones but this is the only one that has the unusual inclusions. Here's a photo of subject stone.

Manganese dendrites in a crack, probably. They've just been slightly consolidated after the initial dendritic growth.

Thanks! I was searching photos of dendritic inclusions and can't find a similar one. Yes. They're in a crack.

Fast growth favors dendritic crystallization, but the high surface area to volume ratio is not thermodynamically favorable, so if those dendrites are sitting in a hot solution for a while after initial crystallization those really fine crystals on the outside are going to dissolve and be redeposited, which will round out those shapes and break them up into isolated bits.
