It's so nice to be missed :D .

John, I did a cursory look through my gemstones, but didn't find it. I know I didn't sell or give it away, so it should be here somewhere. It will have to wait until I return from my trip. I really should get my gemmo room set up anyway, so I'll go through all my boxes and gem-jar trays.

Barbara, no rush! Tomorrow is soon enough.

OH...a trip :( =D> ! If and when you find it is soon enough, no special effort please. I am thinking it was 4-5mm, eye-clean or close. BTW, the spinel pics I did appear to indicate sapphire after review. I you ever recheck it, please let me know. #-o

Among the stones you sent for pics was a spinel. Not any remarkable inclusions were found. However, I sent a few pics of it to you. I looked back at those a few days and noticed typical sapphire silk at 60/120. Thought you might want to check it :-k :-D

Wow those are really cool pictures!

Another item to add to my list of regrets: not looking at Swat emerald samples under microscope when I had 'em.

Egor, EVERYONE likes your sites.
Again, as Tom asked, what exactly are these included xls? Are they part of a phase inclusion?

Dear teacher Barbra Voltaire, The emerald inclusions which I shared is an emerald from old mine of Mingora, Swat ,Pakistan. which is in the collection of one my friend.
According to Sir E.J. Gubelin distinctly shaped brownish , iron stained dolomite rhombohedra represent an essential element of the interior of an emerald from the Mingora , Swat, Pakistan.

with regards

HUK

That's very cool! UV light emphasizes the oil really nicely.
Also a perfect display of the wetting properties of a multiphase fluid on quartz surfaces. :D
