It has been a while since I've participated in a chat session. Mostly, I haven't had any good ideas for one. But recently Tim asked me a question, and I thought the answer would go over well in a chat.
I have to go out of town this weekend, but I'm wondering if anyone would like to participate in a chat Saturday April 14 or Sunday April 15. We can narrow down a specific time after we see if anyone is interested.
One might say that the topic is about when do we need to consider the wave nature of light, and when do we need to consider the particle nature of light.
So if there had to be a title, it might be something like "wave-particle duality of light applied to gemology". Academics have a lot of practice making titles sound fancy.
This reminds me of a funny story. A friend wanted me to participate in a conference, and so I said I would. I sent him the title of my talk, and he forwarded it to the conference organizer. The conference organizer wrote me, asking for my title. I sent her the title of my talk. She wrote back and said, "got it, now what is YOUR title?"
OK, after checking with the wife, I can do this Sunday morning my time. So let's get to the confusing part... I'll hold the chat at 3 pm GMT. Don't forget to take into account your local Daylight Savings Time when converting from GMT to your local time.

Okay, so if I figured this out correctly ... 3 p.m. GMT on Sunday will be 9 a.m. CDT here in MN . That means I'll be getting ready for church. Won't be in the chat .
