so I liked the last chat. Are we going to do it again? Time for new topic? Crystal structure?

well, I'm getting ready for my last day at an interim job before having my first proper holiday in two years. I'll be flying to Rome tomorrow to spend time with Alberto. He has put together quite an impressive schedule of things to do, places to see and people to visit (chefs and bartenders I hope :) ). After I get back from Rome I will leave for France to go and see how Frank is living and laugh over nurdy gemjokes. Although we might hop online together just to have a laugh I think we better continue the serious work the 31st.

Crystal structure will make a fine topic for that session. And we have all the time in the world to think about something good!

see you then!

31st is good for me...so is any subject with the word crystal in it :)

Er...are you editing the last chat before your holidays Tim ?

and I heard that you'll have another few passengers (Miaow) to bring to France

be well all...tap again soon

Frank

Yech! Editing chats isn't high on my wish list! Gotta clean house and pack bags so I ask a bit of patience on the chatlog, will deal with it when I get back.

And yes, the 'miauw' travel companions are subjected to veterinarian advisory on how to be my passengers without them tearing me apart.

You'll be receiving some stoned kitties!

(and that's not cause I'm lighting it up on the way over)

Sure, anyone is more than welcome to join. I believe there may be one this weekend (check above), though I won't be attending. Driving home after my holiday during that weekend.
I would advise to try out the chat system before the chat itself. Either use the link to the left of this forum, or use mIRC as I explained in another post. The system is running 24/7, but usually there is no-one around except 'chanserv' (a program, not a real person) outside scheduled chats.

we use the chat when teaching sessions are scheduled: on saturday (check on this forum section for timing) with Tim about gemology and on sunday with dr. Brian for advanced phisics issue related to gemology.
usually both teachers posts here the subject of the incoming session one day before.
Next chat will be probably this saturday.
ciao
alberto

Hi Mochiko,

The two chats have been amalgamated for the time being. We start of with the basics and then Doc Brian gives us the physics behind it all. If your sitting the June exams and have any last minute questions then come along this weekend...I think 08;30 pm for the UK on Sunday night. The Saturday chats have been canceled for a while but if you pop in after 9pm you might find some of us having an informal chat. FGA students who are less than a month from their exams get priority treatment 8)

Hope to see you this weekend

Frank

Shall we do crystal systems this week?

Just a quick note to say there will be no chat this Sunday.

Also, the previous two chat logs were posted today.
