Hi all,

I just saw a post on the "Chatham Created Gems and Diamonds" facebook page that they have a Chatham Morganite.

It has this picture with the following description:
Enjoy the latest addition to our Morganite Line featuring a 22x12 Oval Checkerboard Chatham Morganite! Gorgeous, isn't it?
From all your friends at Chatham, have a Happy Easter Weekend!

I have searched high and low but can't find any info on Chatham creating this gem. has anyone heard of it or had any experience with it

What I wondered about was the phrase "the latest addition to our Morganite Line." What morganite line? When did they start creating morganite? There is no mention of it on their website :smt102 . The stone is certainly pretty, but is it really Chatham-created??

Danielle -- Have you emailed Serena? Let us know what she says, okay?

My message :

Hi Serena ,

I have admired your beautiful Chatham Morganite on FB But … I 've never read something about a chatham Morganite line in your site ?

Would you give me some more information about Chatham Morganite ?
Many thanks in advance !

With best regards

danielle Lamouri

 This is the answer , a quick answer as american people are used to do :

Hi Danielle,

Thanks for your interest in Chatham.

The Morganite line is the latest colored addition to our collection of Chatham Created Gemstones. We also have Aqua Spinel & Pearl in which neither have been added to our website. We are in the process of “re-designing” the website to include all these stones.

The Morganite piece you saw on Facebook is a Statement Piece from our Millennium Collection. It is quite stunning!

As you know, all of our gemstones hold the same chemical, physical, and optical properties as their mined counterparts. The Chatham Morganite is a true Beryl, just grown in a lab versus in the earth.

If you have any other questions, feel free to contact me.

Thanks,

Well! Knock me over with a feather  . The morganite is certainly beautiful. Wonder if this created stone, since it has all the same properties of natural, will fade :-k ?

Guess I'd better get hold of some of their aqua spinel! :|

Thanks for the follow-up, Danielle :D .

Two pink gems, both notorious for fading (more in kunzite's case, but morganite has its fair share) and both often hailing from the same mines. I don't think anyone could be blamed for a bit of confusion.

I thought about commenting about it likely not to fade then woke up also. It almost always looks faded from the beginning so I have never bought a Morganite or a Kunzite, rather have lumped them into the same category of 'do not buy'.
