Hey guys,

one more question for you. What do you know about new-generation, non-nickel containing catalysts used for growing synthetic HPHT diamonds in Russia? I've heard about some kind of salt (NaCl or similar) being used.

I've been working on a cut sample, produced in 2008. It doesn't contain any metallic inclusion, just some surface pits. My bet would be that even if they contained any trace, it would have been washed away during the polishing or ultrasonic cleaning process. There are very little or none pinpoints inside the stone, so they cant provide any info.

Anyone can shed any light on the topic?

Thanks!
G
