We're lazy and poor. ;) We'll alert the media when there's a date.

nOOb,

That's a social diagnosis and prognosis. You seem to be asymptomatic.

I'd get a second opinion.

It could be "Gemolitis" often mistaken for L&P. It's a harmless condition that needs no treatment other than the patients own intervention.

Many people find the withdrawal from the affliction more painful than the affliction itself.

Patients are advised to follow their own course of therapy. :)

(Come on people, it's ok to have a laugh)

Returning to the original sense of this tread...

What unfortunate matter, those fake lab reports, isn't it! Fortunately, it seems that most of said institutions have gotten sick and tired of it ways back, and made registries of issued reports accessible remotely to any holder of said documents.

You know what I am talking about: report verification services (e.g.Gubelin Gemmological Laboratories ), but, since the bit has not been mentioned and it seems to fit the subject, 'thought I'd throw it in.

I could not find the relevant spot on the site of GIA Thailand and do not know how TGL, GIT, AIGS do this - would imagine that provisin is made in the form of "call us and we'll tell you".

Of course, this only takes care of the kinds of fraud depending on modified or fabricated reports falsely attributed to a laboratory. You can't save them all...

However, Tokyo is a Japanese town, actually the capital. This company is a Thai company. I feel weird they use Tokyo in their company name.

A Thai company?! Which Thai company?

The one I know of is not Thai, it just has the strange misfortune to have a name that starts with 'T' like 'Tokyo' and had the common sense to have opened a branch in Bangkok along with other 'Tokyo gem labs' (Emil also has, have not counted all Japanese labs in Thailand, but it would be easy to with the well-behaved Association of Gemological Laboratories and such)

T.G.L.- Japan Technical Gem Laboratory Co. Ltd

I don't think TGL Bangkok has a page online, but then, that's not that hard to understand, is it...

There is a Tokyo Gem Lab in Thailand, unrelated to the Technical Gem Lab in Japan.

Yes, Barbra is right. Tokyo Gem Lab is in BKK and it's own thing there. We will sometimes use them for quick checks when working through a broker. They're not known to be tricky and upon double checking their reports when returning to the States, we've not found them to be wrong.

Odd business... Only heard of JTGL because of their more familiar locations and took it from there. No question what good all those do!
