Chasing the Mountain of Light, by Kevin Rushby, a wonderful travel journal through India, chasing the history and legends of the Koh-i-Noor diamond. I found it a great book and can recommend it to everyone who likes legendary gemstones, diamonds, or India :D

Anyone who has read it too?

lol, have it on my "books to read" list. right now, i'm reading the book, "flawless: inside the largest diamond heist in history," written by scott andrew selby and greg campbell.

have you read richard wise's book, "the french blue??" you will thoroughly enjoy it!!!!

have been trying to check out, "the tavernier stones: a novel (fiction)," by stephen parrish through our library system, but, it will not allow me to place a hold on the book and i've tried to check it out for 3 months now. another book on my list, "a long way gone : memoirs of a boy soldier," by ishmael beah.

if you get the chance, try to read, "moonstone," by wilkie collins. i think you'll enjoy it!! :D

8) have the recommended book, "chasing the mountain of light," and the book, "a long way gone: memoirs of a boy soldier," headed my way; both are in "transit."

reading gerald a. browne's "11 harrowhouse" while waiting on the books arrival to the local library some time this week. my mother gave the book to me several years ago.

have any of the forum members read any of gerald a. browne's novels?? i think most of his books revolve around the gem and/or jewelry industry?? :)

just finished reading 2 books on agates. i really enjoyed reading lelande quick's "book of agates and other quartz gems!" i think it is out of print now, but, sure would love to have it.

On my way to the library tomorrow to see if they have any of his books. Have to research a bit first, to make sure that I can read in order if it is important. Hate to read a book I like and find that it is the middle of a series.

8) john, no need to worry, gerald a. browne's books don't need to be read in order.

i think you would also enjoy "moonstone," by wilkie collins, too. here's some info on it from wikipedia: (please don't read the plot summary, lol! )
