I borrowed it once from a university library (back when our local library still had an inter-library loan program), and it was glorious. I know it's worth it, but..... arghhhh. #-o (I have the balance-due of my Gem ID lab hanging over my head like a hammer of doom.)

Okay, I finally went to my storage ... I have the second printing of the 1997 Edition. So, I guess that would be considered the Second Edition? The original price tag is still on the back of the dust jacket 8) .

I think so too. A nice book to have. Any one with a serious interest in the history, make-up of and trade in Ruby and Sapphire should have one I think. It earns a permanent place in a gemmo reference library for it's huge bibliography alone. The more one learns, the more there is to know.

Nope. Read the sample chapters/excerpts, from the highly acclaimed publication, made available by Mr. Hughes at his website.
