I have always relied on the used of birthstones chart, for recommending the favoured gems to my customers. Currently, I am still using a printed chart. But it was always misplaced and I don't seem to have it with me when it was most wanted. Small timer like me can run into customers at the most unexpected places or circumstances.

I was looking for an iPhone app that serve this purpose so that I can always have it with me. That way I would always have something to show to the customer.

Are 12 so difficult to memorize?

there are plenty of pictures for birth stones and zodiac just save them in your iphone,
also there are many ebooks you can buy or you could open this page ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birthstone ) every time you visit your customers

Thanks for all the replies. Of remembering 12 stones is not too difficult but some customers may want to refer to chinese astrology, for example. Some may want to referto birth month. So, its quite tedious to remember all these combination.

Another funny thing is that, some customers don't want to just take my word for it. So, by showing a pocket guide or something similar. Seems to have higher credibility that way.

Looks like I found one at the app store.

Not a superb app but serve my purpose.

And, you hope introducing them to that App is going to increase your credibility?
Frankly, what increases one's credibility is to simply answer a customer's question accurately because you know the information.

It was pointed out to me very early on, that if when asked a question, you reach for a book or currently an App, you have just LOST a great deal of credibility. :|
Imagine if you went to the hospital with an ailment and the doctor booted up an app on his iPad to figure out what was wrong with you.

Dear Barbra Voltaire,

Let me clarify on this credibility issue. With regards to credibility, its not that they trust me less as a trader but rather on my knowledge on astrology and stuffs like that. These are the superstitious types and they want a gem stone to enhance their luck. So, if I were to say RUBY is good for CAPRICORN people, its not as credible because I am not an Astrologer. But if I show them in a book, web site or app then at least that would show that I did not make this up myself and people do buy gems stones or jewelry to enhance their luck.

On top of this, oriental customers may want to refer to Chinese Astrology like born in the year of tiger rather than VIRGO, LEO, etc. I used to carry around a print out of these birthstones chart but since getting myself an iPhone, I was hoping that it would be great if there is something that could replace the print out that I used to carry. After all, I am only a small timer.
