But im sure the person didnt know becuase iv made four other trades (20ct kunzite) (8ct muzo emerald) (6ct Kyanite) (20x8mm clean baltic amber) and of witch i trade giant megalodon teeth the teeth i find were i live . And all the other gem have checked out so i guess one out of five isnt to bad .I did put the stone under UV and got this http://www.flickr.com/photos/zircons/5026514797
All this consideration about this stone... If your RI is correct then it indicates sapphire. The cut is "native" and it appears to have some color zoaning. This indicated a natural sapphire (INDICATES ONLY), having a color shift is also cool. The UV looks like chromium. Perhaps you did better than you think. Without seeing it in person, and having only hearsay results (no offence ment), it is impossible to tell from here.
Thanks everbody I thought it might have been some kind of missed ID this person travles around to some very remote place from his home in malaysia collecting gems and fossils so my thinking was wrong ID on the gem thats why i was trying so hard to find out what it could be its the color zoning and the color/shift that really made me think it was some how natural i do have the option to send it to someone with all the tool needed from a real ID I was just trying to do it my self becuase id be very Proud to have done it but its a really stumper Under 20x i see no striae I have one more thing im going to do myself thats look under 100x as soon as i get into the lab at work is there anything i would see to tell me its 100% natural
