Hi there, I have these coral cabochons which were purchased in the 1970’s. A local gemologist has confirmed that they are real coral but does not specialise in determining the origin or value….. does anyone have any insight or ideas?

To start, Japanese coral is not that color. Only coral found in the Mediterranean is that saturated red. Try to find someone with an FTIR to determine if it is dyed. Value? That's something you have to research yourself once you determine treatment.
