There are two agate deposits in the MID-WEST REGION of Argentina. Condor agate and Puma agate.
First we will describe Condor agate:
Condor agate is perhaps one of the most colorful agates in the market, the variety of colors and patterns are endless. Some specimen shows inclusions like sagenite, plumes or moss. Condor agate is found in several deposits of decompose rhyolite in the Hills of Valle Grande town, near San Rafael City, Mendoza Province, Argentina. Usually the material is found in nodules, but one deposit yield only vein type. A low percentage of the material is fluorescent in green color under UV light short wave. Condor agate is mostly free of fractures due to its very young age, Tertiary, 30 million years old. Condor agate was founded, named an introduced to the market in 1993nby Luis de los Santos
