I have a office in middle of Kenya where I buy stones from mining people. I got a question today from some landowners that are starting to dig now.
They wonder what to look for if they are on the right track?
Is there any specific mineral to look for?
And same goes for tourmaline and sapphire.
I'm not in to mining myself. Just want to help the landowners. I gave them money for tools so they can get started.

Typically big sheets of mica, big feldspars. But it will likely vary.

Thank you for your answer.
I will check that out and pass it on.
I took a photo of a stone with something mixed in when I was visiting.
I don't often go to the mines I let them come to my office.

Jambo Sana ndugu,
Where is your office? What part of Kenya are the land owners digging in? I have a lot of experience in mining for gem materials in different parts of Kenya starting way back in the 1970s. What they will find, and the associated indicator minerals will depend to a great extent on where they are, and the geology of that area.

The landowners came to office with mica that they found.
And some orange stones.

We are in the Meru area
Where are your experience from Steve? And are you still in Kenya?
