I´m curios about the price in the end ...

Don´t know about the seller but as far as I can see from the pics this is a fine Specimen ...

Absolutely.
Do they ship to US?
Can't tell from the description.

No, they say shipping within europe. But I´ll keep an eye on the sale and, if the seller wouldn´t ship to the u.s., I would jump in as an adress and pass it through.

Btw: Emeraqua? :-)

I am really sorry but I don't see why is it a fine specimen. I can see from the pictures and details that it is not of quality or size. Is it just because of the location the price is as it shows on ebay ??

Oh, it's a horrible specimen and already very overpriced.

Yep, its all about location on this one. The same mechanism that drives prices in californian tourmalines vs. those from brazil.

Nikolaus how does this price compare to how much you can sell them for nearer the source?

just wondering if e-bay is a good outlet for these.

It's a lovely specimen

My experience is that the best prices are fetched when specimens are sold directly in the area around the deposit.

Ebay is a two sided medaillion: this specimen is a nice one (therefore the price rises to where it is now), lower quality specimens are there every week and dont find byers in this priceclass.

I for my part sold emmies from habachtal on ebay for about a year in 2006 or so, and decided to stop doing that, since under the line there wasn´t that much advantage - but a lot more time (and ebay charges) to invest. And I still bite into my tongue when I think about that wonderful 3 ct crystal I had to send out for 10 Euros ... #-o

I can´t really give you a tip on that, depends on what material is for sale. What kind of rocks are you specialised in?

The endprice was: 829 Euros. Even a bit higher than I estimated.

Higher than I thought but still not outrageous for such a nice specimen from such a rare source

Outrageous in my mind is Nikolaus selling a 3ct stone for 10 dollars (ouch)

Gotta love European gems...doesn't seem fair that we have so many mountains and so few top gem sources
