WANTED SOME INFORMATION REGARDING THE QUESTION FORMAT IS MULTIPLE CHOICE OR SOMETHING ELSE. IS READING MATERIAL ENOUGH OR DO I NEED TO STUDY FROM BOOKS ALSO I AM WORRIED BECAUSE ITS MY FIRST COURSE
Sorry for the delay. I was studying like (crazy) until mornings lately and I have just passed my Diamonds & Diamond Grading final exam yesterday
For the Colored Stone Essential final exam, it will consist of 50 multiple choice questions. Everything comes from your textbook -- just note that sometimes they are from the details in your textbook... As the other member on this forum mentioned before, make sure you understand and study hard on the summary, quizzes, and the vocabulary -- and you should be fine
For the reference book do we need to study from that or the book material is enough. if you are distance education student it will be a great help , I am really confused between some courses , if you are comfortable to share your email address so if i need help i can mail you directly. my email add is Removed by Admin * If it is ok with you

I am currently studying GIA via distance education. I am also going to take Barbra's advice by not posting my email address here - but I do check back this forum often, when I am bored with the courseware
For your questions, I have just reviewed the Color Stone Essential textbook - I didn't recall reading any reference book for that course (but I did read A LOT of in depth materials in different languages about jade & jadeite in the last few years before studying with GIA, a subject which I am very interested in...=). Most of the reference material I read in this course came either from Google or YouTube (i.e. equipments, treatments, procedures, inclusions, etc.) At this stage, if you are so anxious about passing the exam, you may just Google or YouTube on the subjects that you are not clear with in the courseware; however, I would highly recommend you to do some research/ further studies on bits and pieces mentioned after the Final Exam, as most of them will show up again in Colored Stones and Gem Identification courses.
Please let me know what your "confuses" are and see if we can discuss and come up with an answer
