Oh yes! The morning of Brexit, the pound hit a 30 year low and I immediately transferred $1000 into £ at an amazing rate. Now I just use cash. So far so good. I'm halfway through colored stones and I think maybe my brain is starting to melt and ooze out my ears but I have them plugged up :D I'm looking forward to the more hands on bits of GEM ID. But still 12 more chapters of Colored Stones to go..... All this memorization is actually pretty hard and it's really hard to know how much of this info I can actually retain beyond the final test. We'll see.

It's all really happening. After three months of disciplined reading and studying, I am finally finished with Colored Stones! I have already taken the Colored Stones Lab and the GEM ID lab and now I'm reading to identify my 300 stones!!! So close.

I've been in Bangkok for almost two weeks now and Graduate Diamonds starts in 2 weeks, my only on campus class. I am really enjoying myself though I hope I can retain all that I've learned. Colored stones was A LOT OF INFO!!

I still hope to have my GG by xmas, though worst case scenario I will identify my 300 stones in Jaipur while I am there for a faceting class from Jan-March.

wish me luck. living my dreams.
also dreaming big.. I've been looking hard at the Gemmology Bachelors degree that Birmingham City University offers with Gem-A in the UK and seriously considering it. I would love an EDU visa so I could stay in the UK and I would love to keep learning and become super educated before having to pay it all back. We'll see though :D I would also love to say I have a GG, FGA, DGA, and a Msc in Gemmology. dreams.......

I'm sure everything will work out as planned, and often when it doesn't it's way more interesting.
