I’m currently taking the courses; I just finished D@DG and have to take the in person lab. What should I be expecting? I’m traveling from Indiana to Carlsbad, so it’d be a pretty expensive mistake to not be prepared.

Distance education is ideal for me. I also read from people that Colored Stones is best taken in person. My past student loans are in default, so paying out of pocket course-by-course is really my only option right now.

I was also considering taking the NAJA appraisal courses before tackling gems. I spoke to them and was told this could easily be done before completing a full GG, but to complete Colored Stones regardless.

Anyone with experience have advice on what to expect?

Thanx!

I'm happy to help answer any questions you have. I don't think you have enough posts to send a PM, but you can email me at pmattlin@gia.edu

There is no preparation needed prior to coming to campus for the DGL class. All necessary equipment and stones are provided for use during the lab. Just come with an open willingness to learn and you'll be fine :D
