Reviews, please, winners!
Gem-n00b and JungKee, what do you think of this software? I really think it has some great features. How about you?
Let's hear about it!
If you think it's useful, I'll start offering on our site.

... I knew I was supposed to do something. Looking back at the posts, I realize now that I was supposed to contact GTP Bill... :smt115

I'll do it now and review the software once I get it. D'oh!

Me, I think the software is great! Mucho gracias Bill! :D
The layout is clean and it is easy to understand its functions, which are sensible and certainly useful. I, as a student, especially liked the quiz and the glossary, as well as the simply wonderful photo collection! The other functions, such as the weight estimators, grading reporters and custom piece calculator is a bit more difficult to use accurately, but will certainly be of good use to most appraisers once one've understood how to work it properly. I'll recommend this software to my classmates.

Excellent!
I really think it has volumes of useful information.
Anyway, I added it my Book Page if anyone is interested:

Hi All,

Thanks for the kind words about GT Pro. I would like to clear up a small matter that Jung Kee brought up. He said the weight estimators are hard to use. Actually, they are extremely easy to use but his problem with it was that he lives in Sweden. There, they use a comma instead of a decimal point. There is a simple fix (a Windows setting) for those of you in Europe and other areas that might use this way of doing math. Just wanted to clear that up.

Yes, since Bill helped me fix the bug (in my computer, not in the program I might add) the estimators are working just fine! :)

The program is truly awesome. The weight estimators, the gemstone data charts (with photos and inclusion photos), the custom piece calculator... even as a novice/hobbyist, this program would be invaluable. I've only just scratched the surface of what the program can do, I'm sure, and I think it's fantastic.

I'd recommend everyone who's in the industry to get a copy, honestly, it's darn useful. For $60 it's pretty much a no-brainer; you could spend more than that on a mediocre dinner for two. :)

If anyone wants detailed reviews of a certain portion of the software or screenshots, let me know. I'd be happy to play with the more advanced stuff (weight estimators), but I don't have a round-brilliant diamond here in front of me to enter in data for. ;)

Everyone in the jewelry business should have this program. It will make you look smart

I love that! I also think gemologists should wear lab coats and have high end loupes dangling around their necks.

A watchmakers loupe tattoo around the eye will be the finishing touch.

Hi Gem Doc,

If I could just get everyone in the jewelry business to follow your advice I'd really be busy (and happy)!!

You people are the greatest (and you're making me blush which isn't easy to do!). Thank you!

Bill

Okay, after all of these glowing reports - I couldn't resist, I had to purchase it, and I just received mine today. I love it!!!

It has an enormous volume of material and I've only seen the tip of the iceburg. I can't seem to stop playing with the quizzes - I love them!

I can't wait to use it for my appraisals!!

Thanks Bill, for a great product that truly adds value to our industry. =D>
