When I was in Tucson I stumbled on a booth at GJX.
I'm still thinking about the tanzanite they had. Sorry, I digress.

GemeWizard has just developed an app I recommend everyone download.
Pick up your mobile now.
Search for mygemewizard
This app is so useful, I used it throughout Tucson once I downloaded it.

My Gemewizard™
The My Gemewizard app enables gemology students, jewelers, gem dealers and gem appraisers to quickly and accurately capture (or upload) a gem image, identify its exact color, and communicate that information, together with additional information such as the gem properties, its price, its vendor and the event at which it was presented.

It allows you to take a pic of the stone with your cell:

The color is then interpreted with the GemeWizard color grading protocol

And then you can add the additional information:

And the price?
FREE

This looks really interesting! I'm not sure how much stock I'd put in color assessments from my phone camera, especially without standardized lighting, but it seems very useful anyway. I just got it on my phone.

You can make modifications on the color by sight.
In other words if you feel the color selected is off, you can choose the correct one.
It is a great way to keep track of vendors and prices and share info with others.

I have used Gemewizard for a couple of years now. Great app. I was unaware of the new version. It looks very useful, I will update. Thanks for posting.

What an excellent tool! I’m excited to play around with this in my office and test it out, I think I’ll have some fun with this.
