For some time I have been developing a reference collection of gem materials that is now out of hand. I'm looking for some database software, perhaps with predefined templates, that would allow me to catalogue the collection and print labels, etc. Maybe there is a piece of software for commercial gem dealers that would work? Mac compatibility would be a plus, but probably too much to ask.

hi ggfgaM$>673...

...send me a sampling of your data in its present format, and I'll see if it will import into one of the several database packages that I have. BUT, I bet you have tried this already. Never the less, I am willing to try.

Maybe this freeware from OsoSoft would work for the labels at least? I've toyed with using it but have never gotten sufficiently organized. The info at the url is old; maybe George has a newer version by now.
