First of all I apologiese if this isn't the right place to ask this.

I just received this stone from ebay, it cost me $4 and weights around 23 grams. Does anyone know if this is a real amethyst? It doesn't seem to have any bubbles but there is a bit of silky - foggy parts inside of it.
Even though the seller has over 200 product reviews and 0 negative ones, because of the low price and the fact that it's from China makes me think it's fake.

Being that heavily included would not be typical of a synthetic amethyst, though I imagine it could be done. The crystal form is, however, artificially polished rather than naturally formed.

Seems about the right quality for $4, I don't think anyone would go to the trouble of producing synthetic amethyst for $4 a pop. Crackle dyed? Maybe, although I would expect to see more colour around the cracks.
