This specimen is about 3 in. across. I hadn’t seen something like it in person or online. Apparently from an estate liquidation. I’ll show it to a rock expert soon but am wondering if you have any opinions here?

Presently residing in an area known for strong geological activity but doesn’t mean it was born there! (but could).

It has dull lustre, appears brittle.

Maybe gypsum. It forms fast and is a bit water soluble.
