So I bought this stone a while back in Chanthaburi. It was sold to me as tourmaline in a batch of other stones I brought, I wasn't convinced it was tourmaline but I was more interested in the other stones so I wasn't bothered.

From the cleavage it doesn't look like glass more like topaz to my unedumacated eye?

Anway I'm not really trying to determine what the stone is (yet) but what the inclusions are. They look like dark blue clouds.

I was wondering if anyone had seen inclusions like this or could hazard an educated guess as to what they could possibly be.

Looks to have either cleavage or at least, parting - maybe they accidentally gave you a big white sapphire :)

Weak and spotty color zones with undefined borders are common in Topaz as is the cleavage shown.

I think your first course of action is to identify the specimen.

I never thought of Fluorite, but I bet you're correct. The purple is a strong indicator.

I doubt it. Fluorite's cleavage is very distinct, but rarely that polished and flat. It dfinitely has a very topaz-like appearance
