I'm trying to identify a green gemstone that I bought as tsavorite. I'm including the results of some tests i did, as well as photos taken through my microscope and I'd greatly appreciate your opinion. Let me know if you need any more info (I have most basic gem instruments). Thanks!
Weight: 2.5ct Dimensions: 7.6 x 6.0 x 4.6mm Fluorescence: None (Lw and sw) Polariscope: Looks like ADR

Hi Ross. Just answered your email. I removed your pics because they were way too large. Please look at the header above. Keep the size to around 600px. Thanks.

Very sorry to report your photos are of no use as they are far too blurry. Couple of things will identify your stone as tsavorite.
Might need a gemologist to sort these out for you. If your gemologist owns a GemmoRaman, it can be positively identified in seconds. Refractive index: 1.740 Specific Gravity; 3.60-3.68 Also tsavorite will be attracted to a rare-earth magnet. It won’t be picked up like Demantoid, but if you float it on a thin sheet of styrofoam in water and put your magnet close, it will make the styrofoam move towards it.
Thank you so much for your response and I'm sorry about the pictures. I'll try to take better ones tomorrow. In the meantime, I did do the magnetism test, and the stone showed a weak/moderate magnetic response. Will be in touch!
