I have quite a few cabochons I got from a gemstone auction that were not identified.. this being one of them. I know identifying through pictures is difficult and won’t give me a definite answer but any help is appreciated! It’s yellow but isn’t one solid color, there is slight variation. It doesn’t sparkle like aventurine, and is not translucent or waxy at all. In my pictures it is wrapped, but without the wrap, it has quite a bit of weight to it.

Unfortunately I’m in PA and I haven’t been able to find anyone in my area that I trust to identify it. Yellow quartzite is the closest looking in pictures. I will try to keep researching and hopefully find someone to test it for new. Thanks for your help!
