Hi
First of all thanks for reading this post

Can anyone help in identifying this gemstone

i am new to gemology but very keen to learn

here is what ive got so far

Magnetism = No or my magnet is weak
Specific Gravity= error (0.5 g outside water / inside water= 0 ) (using a 1 decimal point scale )
Pleochroism= Yes Red / Pink
Spectrometer ( Non prism ) = looks like Corrundum Ruby
chelsea filter reaction = goes pink (white light) / red (yellow light)
UV = florescene reaction, Glows bright pink especially on the girdle
RI ( using digital refractometer) =1.738 - 1.754 = -0.016

Any help would be much appreciated

You need to master using your instruments. One can not do that with unknowns.

Totally agree with you, I’m going to buy a few samples of different minerals to test and get more experience.

Based on the RI number you have here, the other reactions and the SG that sounds very much like Corundum - Ruby. From the photos it looks like there might be some curved striations in it but without seeing it to confirm I wouldn't say definitely but based on what you've gotten I'd bet it's probably a Flame Fusion Corundum-Ruby.
