 Post subject: two pieces...ID?

For this smaller mineral, I guess it's calcedony,but I do not know what could be this bigger?This does not react to the muratic, cutting the glass, but I would say it's a little softer than calcedony (a scratch method)?
In the background you have a love euphoria(snails) :oops: =D>

New to the Forum or The Quiet Type

For me it is not a mineral but a rock

My first thought was Marble, but you told us that it scratch glass.
Marble can also include some level rich in silicium and the hardness of the rock may be tricky to check.

So my second pick will be between a Quartzite and perhaps a White Granite.

Remember, glass scratches glass. Anything of with equal hardness will scratch itself.

Hardness points would be a good thing to invest in.
Muratic acid to seperate calcium carbonates from others.
Observing fractures and cleavage.
