What color tone and what size? Large piece can mean many sizes. Boules are typically longer than wider and some may be split. I have some but size and color tone will be needed.

I really, really, just need a 4.5 cm diameter cylinder with a thickness of 0.3 - 0.5 mm. A long piece would be great to have stock and I could just cut it myself. Have not found anyone yet that can do this or is willing to try... Hell, I would even be willing to pay someone to even try.

As well as a few 2 cm by 1 cm by 0.5 cm thick rectangular pieces.

Looking for both blue sapphire and ruby.

What are normal prices for S or R on the synthetic market? These are the offers I have seen so far

http://ottoeigner.com
238 ct Ruby Nr. 5 18/20 mm - € 25,70
221 ct Sapphire Nr. 34 19/21 mm - € 35,80

RusGems
Czochralski (Pulled) method, Full boules, 0.5-6 kg weight, the price is $2-$4/ct.
Synthetic ruby/sapphire, Half-boules, 30-100 grams each, the price is $100-$400/kg

1st Have you exhausted this hunt?

If not try this site https://www.gemsngems.com/product-category/rough-stones/lab-created-rough/

My experience with synthetics is you buy a whole boule or a split boule, synthetic process will determine the size of the boule (flame fusion, pulled, etc.).

Blue comes in many different shades, same as ruby, very light pink all the way to the deepest of reds. In some markets pink corundums are considered ruby although others consider it pink sapphire.

If you go to the site I listed above and tell me which of the colors your looking for, I will see if I have some material in my bag of trimmings that fit your needs. Typically Deja #34 is the most popular for the blue and #6 or#7 for ruby.
