Hello experts,

I am a novice in the field, although I'm trying to correct that :). I currently work for the state department which has taken me all over the world, so I've collected some cool stuff. Recently I was given a large bucket of "Amber" from a friend. I have a fair amount of experience with this, and and know all the relevant tests to determine its validity. However, this particular batch is not like most I have dealt with. It has passed all normal testing but it is Almost like a super lightweight glass, it is very brittle. Tap it with a hammer and it will break easily apart. Autoclave it, and it will crumble. It polished well, but if I drop a piece it will likely break.

Now my experience with Copel is it is generally softer, so I would not expect this.

I would like an opinion please, if anyone had one. Thank you.
