It's a simple question and I hope for some genuine advise. Have some large stocks of different color gemstones (eg. 6x4 sapphires ovals) and so which trade fairs are advisable to sell such items?

- A trade show where counter sales is easy and simple. And a location/market which is likely to have a positive response
- Any other sales channels to suggest?

What is your personal background in the gem industry? Do you have a background?
Which shows have you personally attended?
Why would those shows be good or bad for your collection?

How much are you willing to spend to set up your booth? They are not free.

Who would be a customer for your collection? High end designers or artsy crafty designers?
Where do those customers go to buy?

Ease of sale would be a function of how you set up your personal sale software.

There are thousands of gem shows around the world....your question is too vague for a specific answer.

Great post, Miss B. Those are wonderful questions to ask yourself, before jumping ahead to fast.

Excellent. I am a jeweler, and have solid experience in this field. I mainly do retail business here but have a lot of stocks which I want to sell. My stocks are precious gemstones so I want some manufacturers, designers buyers. And most stocks are commercial quality goods in setting sizes.

Obviously, I am willing to spend the money in booth setup and other costs. I have exhibited at BK fair and the response was not great. So any other markets to suggest? Which shows you can recommend?

 Obvious to you, certainly not to me. I have no idea who you are or what your background is.

The Bangkok show didn't work for you ...
-because there was too much competition?
-your goods were at the wrong price point?
-the quality of your stones was not what people were looking for?
-the customers were wrong for your goods?

I'm not sure larger shows will be your best option.

Perhaps you should try smaller venues like Etsy.

Thanks for the answer. I am looking to exhibit at shows where

-There are traders who are simply looking for a good deal. As I have plenty of stocks which I want to clear at wholesale discount prices
- A suitable show for my kind of products. Have plenty of ruby, sapphires in small rounds, ovals. Thus I want to find some manufacturers and get some potential orders for the gems.

I know there will be some costs and am prepared for it. So any ideas of potential names of shows?

No easy way forward I'm afraid.

If it was simple we would all be making money, however success depends on marketing and sales expertise.

Established dealers have established suppliers, that is who you are competing with and some of them are very competitive.

Small stones are slow movers in my experience.

That's all true and fair. But I am just looking for names of shows. Fairs where you have seen such small sizes gemstones being displayed. How is the Tuscon Gem show?

I want some fair names as a starting point.

All shows exhibit small stones, including Tucson, which probably displays more of EVERYTHING than any show on Earth.

Your IP indicates you are in Hong Kong. Are you interested in American Shows?

International Gem Shows...some in Hong Kong

The ball is in your court now. Go to shows and assess their possibilities or lack thereof.

You could also post some at the market place here. A number of people here would be interested in some.
