Hello,
It is my first time in this forum, and it is very interesting especially for beginners :)
I am starting a collection of gems. I have some and I tried to find their name through books and the web. But couldnt be sure :(
Could you please help me in this endeavour?
Thank you in advance!

See forum disclaimer--stones can't be definitively identified just from a photo, any post based on one is an educated guess at best, and real physical and optical data are needed for a more informed opinion.

That said, the color and inclusion scene of 1 and 2 are very suggestive of tumbled quartz. 3 is too ambiguous to offer an opinion. The color and fractures/cleavage of 4 suggests blue apatite to me. The color, patterning and opacity of the last one suggests tumbled jasper.

As a side-note, while it is now possible to upload large images, it would be best to resize pictures down to about 600 in width for members with slower internet connections.

Stephen and I agree on every point....including pic size.

Huge pictures distort out pages. [-X

Don't give it another thought Opaline. I reformatted your pics to 600px.
No problem.
