Hi Jane and welcome.
I reformatted all your pics to 600 pixels in width.

Please, everyone, stick to 600px. Otherwise our pages will be distorted.
Thanks

Last one looks like Chrysocolla in quartz.

I would guess the first one is jasper, myself.

Steve, that makes it very simple, but accurate.

David, yes... more than likely. Just thought it may be an option to consider.

Perhaps, the person who found it and tumble polished it.
Looks like jasper (aka chert) to me too.

Many people tumble rocks and gems they find as hobbies with their children and do these simple inexpensive types of jewelry to show them off. Hundreds of Rock and Mineral clubs do the same for and with their youth members.

Chert is cool!
Most of the chert we find here in the Bay Area is Radiolarian Ribbon Chert, a biochemical chert which was formed when the siliceous skeletons of marine plankton dissolved during diagenesis, with silica being precipitated from the resulting solution. It has found it's way to the surface as the result of magnificent geosynclinal deformation.
Here is a wondrous outcrop of folded radiolarian chert at Hidden Cove.

Which can end up looking like this on the beach: this was taken on Rodeo Beach in Sausalito:

And then like this after time in the tumbler:

We love chert, at least I do. :smt054
