Might be a matter of technique. A brick red flame usually indicates calcium or cadmium. Of course, for a proper flame test, you'd dip a platinum wire in the "fizz", then hold it in the flame. I monitored the qualitative analysis lab in school, and haven't forgotten quite all of it :)

I have a similar stone nearly. Then I checked the RF value, it is about 1.56---------Some people guessed it as white Beryl

RF refers, in this case, to refractive index.
No, beryl does not react to acids.
