Hessonite garnets from Tanzania often have the sleepy yellow/brown color and texture of the first two stones.
The pink/orange pear shape is within the color range of Malaya Garnet from Tanzania. Actually it is a classic and desirable Malaya color. Malaya has a broad color distribution. It is properly defined by the component distribution of its pyrope/almandine/spessartine garnet end members as shown in the chart below from the excellent research done by Mr. Kirk Feral.
The twisty fluorescent bulbs. Technically any shape will do but just saying a 'fluorescent light' sounds more like a UV source. LEDs probably give a wider range of interesting color shifts overall I think but I'll miss some aspects of cfls as they disappear. Especially Nd YAG going colorless under them, and the bronze hues in malayas.

Thank you for your reply. What colors of Hessonite garnets are desirable? I've seen a lot of people buying Hessonite garnets lately, and I wonder if I am missing something, to me, brownish orange/yellow is not a pretty color.

Hessonite is really just a.yellow brown color of grossular garnet so only available in that color range. It is available in clean bright qualities unlike the posted samples.
Top notch stuff IMO is rich orange and slightly sleepy, giving it a velvety glow. Grossular can range from pure yellow to pink-red with rich oranges in between, and can be totally clean down to translucent, but that would be the most classic look.

Eye of the beholder value in my opinion. The darker slightly saturated with some red are probably going to test out more blended with other garnet varieties. Monetary value in garnets is typically based on variety, grade and size. I personally think rich almandite garnets and fanta orange spessartite are some of most amazing looking garnets after cut and has a good clarity. I think the hessonites as accents give a better value than using say champagne colored smoky quartz. It all ends in the eye of the beholder.
The reddish ones seem to lean brown which is rarely a good thing for a gem's open market value. I haven't checked closely or recently, but just off the cuff I'd guess the golden yellows would be faster to sell and net better prices. Neither color range are inside what I'd call hessonite, even if they're mostly grossular.
