Over the course of 5 years I've collected and seen all kinds of weirdness with this stuff, closed C axis, open C axis, colourless with an open blue axis, green cored stuff, dark purple-blue, zinc-grey with pink spots...
Are there any papers out there surveying and comparing the different finds of this rare material, or looking into the chromophores and describing their effects on the pleochroic behavior of the crystal? Tourmaline is complex enough but I'm finding little to go by compared to chrome and paraiba materials.
