I always thought 18k was 75% gold by weight. Is it actually by volume?

It is interesting. I can think of several uses outside the gem industry. Inside, instead of plating things you can make them out of solid gold foam, which would prevent the thin coating from wearing off exposing copper underneath.

It does seem rather like a solution in search of a problem. Maybe it's less allergenic? Kind of cool though.

18k gold is 75% purity... I couldn’t tell what the alloy is... The article was very vague as to create using their technique... injection ? Some nano-suspension sort of thing ?

I’ve got a 18k series that would work awesome... if anyone’s got a connection to this group please let me know. Perhaps they need a designer / Goldsmith ? PM me !
