Foundation only, there are several months of Diploma courses coming up before the final exam in June. I'm just glad to have that first bit out of the way.

Well done africanuck... :smt026 :smt026

I did my foundation last June (A)! And just did my diploma, had my last paper Thursday!!! What a fab achievement and by all the posts on here and your post - I am sure you will do great :D Now we have to wait ages....for the results lol.................Starting your dip so soon too...here if you need anything...just pm me....

The Dip theory went ok for me....I found both papers relatively easy, but am kicking myself because i forgot to answer 2 sub- questions and lost 4% of the total mark. What an idiot!!! I knew the answers too. I don't know what happened!! i just forgot to answer it - must have been nerves!! I saw it on the exam paper in the pub after!!! I was so annoyed with myself #-o So i think i passed - will be very surprised if i don't, but think the 4% i lost will cost me the A i might have got!!! bit disapointed.
The practical wasn't too hard either, made one mistake in D! and got a bloomin spectrum wrong! Nerves play havoc in an exam.....and i hate to think what my RI's + birefringes were like under so much pressure!! So i reckon i passed but didn't bag an A!! We'll C! I hope i passsed!!! I did 8 hours a day for 6 weeks so i'll be gutted and very  if i don't...lol

ANyway - well done Africanuck....so glad it went well :smt023..... :smt002

Also - has anyone been to Sri Lanka? My hubby and I are going in mid Feb....are there any mines we can visit??? Does anyone have any contacts, advice? we're not buying our tickets until after the 26th as they have elections in 3 days....will let the dust settle - wouldn't want to arrive in the middle of a revolution lol....So excited though......:smt041

Pixette, bravo! Bet you're glad to have that over and done with.

I know exactly what you mean about nerves, I woke up the following two mornings thinking "oh no, I forgot to add this or that", things that were very simple and that I know. In my defense, it's been a lot of years since I've written an exam and yes, I was nervous.

Congrats for your exam.
From Canada it took 2 months of waiting to have my foundation exam results lol, i just did the diploma practical exam and they told me that it will take 3 months to have the result, looks like it's faster from London lol

Sounds the same as me.

I went in after doing 6 hours a day for maybe 4-5 months, and thought I had a shot at an A if I got the right theory papers.

I did get the right theory papers, but proceeded to make one big error that cost me 5-7% straight out. With only 20% to play with (not much at all) this probably killed my A. We never get to know our score, but I suspected at the time my theory was 75%+, looking at the questions.

Annoying, as the January 2009 papers were perfect for me.

Hello everyone.
I have done the foundation in January, too.
I just learned that by March 10 will know the outcome.
examination questions seemed to me a little bit difficult, especially on the inclusion of green stone (I was undecided between a peridot and a triphasic emerald).
also I'm worried because I had to leave the examination one hour before the end, otherwise I miss the train to Vicenza Fair.
wait over 1 month to know the examination results hurts my coronary.
please hurry
francesco
