Ohai ...
Palecolors suggested in class we'd get a thread going here to support each other in our studies for the "grand" exam in June. I'll take it a step further and see if there are any more students eager to hop onboard.
So, any questions related to home assignments, difficult text wording (sometimes it's easier to understand information given a different wording), concerns for the exams, panic days before the exam ... Heh. Anything concerning Gem-A's Diploma course, feel free to post! Maybe we can help each other pass that exam!
Don't feel shy about your questions, some people have easier to grasp what you don't, but in return you might grasp things others don't (or at least that's something I tell myself whenever I feel stupid).
So, I'll go first. I've been bothered with the interference thing (chapter 23, "pre course reform") but think I finally nailed it. Just to make sure though; the "in phase" and "out of phase" of wavelenghts BOTH take place when you see colours from interference. When the wavelenghts are refracted in phase, some colours are intensified. When the wavelengths are refracted out of phase, other wavelengths are weakened.
Hence you only see (or mainly see?) the intensifed colours.
Have I understood the concept? Missed anything?
