Hey all
I've just finished college this summer and was a little stuck on what to do next. I heard about Gemology from a family friend recently, did a lot of research online and I am now really interested in becoming a gemologist. I did a mixture of Science and Art subjects at college so I am confident this is my cup of tea.
I'd like to do the Foundation Course with Gem-A, learning via ODL because I cannot commute to the centre 'closest' to me. However, the course I am interested in starts on the 16th September and I'm a little worried it's too late. I really don't want to wait till next year to apply. - Does anyone know if this is too late to apply? - How many ODL students can Gem-A take?
On their website it says I can still apply for the course that starts on the 16th September, but I don't want to spend all that time filling in the form, sending it off and waiting, to get no response, or a letter back stating that there are no spaces left

Hi Tonks. Welcome to the forum. I've run your question by Starla Turner, one of the tutors for Gem-A Stateside.

He shouldn't have a problem getting into the September 16 class. It is the 6 month course and moves at a nice pace.. I do the fast track on that: 4 months. GEM-A is very prompt at getting back to people, especially if he scans his forms and emails them in. Cheers Starla

Hope this helps.
Heya,
Thank you for the response! Hopefully I will get my application form sent off tomorrow
