Yeah, we had a real gourmet gathering up there! Liters of 40 year aged Scotch Whisky! Perfect Swiss / Italian Funghi Risottos with indian style Ghee! Austrian smoked Ham and dutch cheese! Yummie...
No the reason for the weight was, that you just don´t know what the weather gods are planning for you...
We had luck: No single drop of rain in 7 days. If we had knew that before, the backpacks would have been lighter. But the week before the Go crew was there, when I built up the camp, we had freezing temps and up to 35 cm snow... avalanches included.
YOu just have to be able to cope with all weather situations. MK for instance brought about 5 kg of medical supplies. Tim carried Fat Max up the Mountain etc.
My problem though seems to be the descent: I continue to increase the weight from time to time, last time I went down with 58 kg on my back. Just because I just can´t let the Specimens oxidyze up there ...

enjoyed the video!! beautiful scenery, emeralds, and, lol, wondering about the tea looks like y'all had a blast together! enjoyed the AJU article on the Habachtal emerald, nik, lots of history there-and we'll be looking forward to your book! and, ms. b's emerald specimen is beautiful!
