Post subject:  Purchasing gemstones abroad - methods of payment?

Hi all,

When purchasing gemstones abroad (either rough or cut), are these always cash-only or cash-preferred transactions? Is anyone aware of locations in which the use of credit cards, local-currency debit cards, or any other form of payment is accepted or routine? I'd appreciate any information at all on this.

Thanks!

Hi,

I guess this sounds like a silly question, but in Norway, if you have a small business and purchase stuff for it, and in this case for example rough gemstones, the authorities in Norway will want to see recites. Then the accounting will be accepted and you can take away that amount of expenses from the taxable income of the business. Less tax to pay.

Im not sure if this is very understandable english, but I hope my point got thru.

Is there any form of recites written in these gem deals around the world, and for rough in particular for my interest?
