My name is Geno,
I am from the Tahoe basin area... The past year I have been interested in finding unique minerals and have found a area in Alpine county Ca, that has Fire Agate, Petrified wood, Crystallized Chert, Obsidian and Herkimer diamonds in one spot.... I am looking for more areas to explore, would like to find people to hunt with...

Just a quick note - Herkimer diamonds are doubly terminated quartz crystals found in Herkimer, NY. There are a number of other locales in which doubly terminated quartz crystals are found. Pecos Diamonds for example. There are some now being found in Pakistan that look very similar to Herks.
But really, you can't be finding Herkimer diamonds in California, unless they were transported there. :-D
