Beginning of the day's mining work, in the Mountains of the Jos Plateau - Central Nigeria. As the water level drops after the rains, formerly flooded pits are being returned to by miners in search of mainly Cassiterite in alluvial sediments...Pockets of Topaz and atimes Aquamarine usually encountered at this location. Hoping am lucky today Planning to grab some data as well, probably gather enough in due time to map these occurrences...maybe pickup a trend? Best Wishes to all Miners/Prospectors/trippers out there.
Full Disclosure; Ethical considerations of the nature of mining practices involved are felt by myself as well, and picture quality is good as can be from Nokia C3(Field phone )

Thank you for the pictures from the field! It's always exciting to see how things go out there where the gems are found. Here is hoping that you can indeed map a trend!
Thanks Tom Herman, feeling encouraged! Work on this location was suspended for the holidays and also some security challenges that came up, hoping to resume January... Unfortunately, no Pictures yet IceHut, only found Colorless-Topaz which as you probably know already doesn't cause much celebration around here. Pray for better luck next year.
