Someone mentioned a book by Dan Hausel on prospecting a while ago on the Diamond thread. I got it and started reading it. It is amazing. I have probably close to 100 books on "where to find" various minerals. This is the first book I have found that explains HOW to find the minerals. HOW to prospect. It also has some funny anecdotes in it. I highly recommend it.

For someone so important in the rock, gem, and geology fields, and the different mediums he has used to share his knowledge and experiences, it's quite surprising to see that I am one of the few people I know of, if not the only one, who is friends with him on Facebook. He doesn't use his actual name on there, for whatever reason. Nor more Wyoming these days, as he now lives in Arizona.
When I started in rocks and gems, he was one of the few out there that wrote books regarding prospecting and finding mineral deposits, him and Sinkankas. I always liked John's book "Field collecting gemstones & minerals"
