Gem-A is looking for a person with, or about to graduate with, the
Gem-A Diploma (FGA) level who also has sound sales/customer service
experience (not necessarily within the gem/jewellery industry) for a
full-time position combining sales and events. Although initially a
relatively junior position, the appointed person will soon become our
main point of contact for both advice and sales to potential students
and members, will organize and help develop our events, and help the
marketing of our books and equipment through our wholly-owned trading
company Gemmological Instruments Ltd. They will work closely with our
Membership and Communications team and provide varied administrative
back-up in these areas.

In addition to gemmological and sales experience and, ideally, some
event experience, the role requires a team player with good people
skills, excellent communication skills, good IT abilities and a rare
blend of outgoing personality, motivation and good organizational
skills.

In first instance email a CV to jack@gem-a.com

This should suit Kyriakin as a glove, I hope.

Thanks for the head's up on Facebook, but I am managing a school in Japan at the moment.

Taken too much on my plate here to consider blowing anyone out for a few years; plus I wanted to learn either Japanese/Mandarin 'in-house' (Mandarin would be more useful, but Japan is more 'livable' while learning - plus the earning potential, in doing so, is much greater in Japan).

Gems are on the back-burner for a few years now, after I finally decided to call it quits in Thailand.

Sounds a reasonably good position for a new-ish grad though.

Sorry, I didn't log in here for months. Thanks a lot.

My area in Japan is very quiet (San-In: Shimane/Tottori prefectures), so kind of pining for the big cities.

Language is much easier than Thai too, IMHO. Initially anyway.
