Hi
My name is Alex and I aspire to be A graduate gemologist with A knowledge of geology and A hobby of faceting.

I live in Tucson, Az and it is gem show season--what an exciting time to live in Tucson!

I am on lesson 6 of G.I.A's home study colored stones course.
I'd purchased the course second hand so I will ask A jewelry store owner/graduate gemologist who I know to grade my lessons for me.
[The reason I'm not able to ask her right now is because it is gem show season--she is BUSY!]

I've been reading the forums at GemologyOnline for a while and feel very fortunate that there are so many knowledgeable and experienced people sharing my passion for gemology [and geology] on these forums.

I am physically in Tucson so if anyone attending any of the many gem shows has any questions that, with my being in Tucson, that I can answer, I will answer as best as I can.

I look forward to continuing my gemological and geological education and benefiting from the wealth of knowledge on GemologyOnline.

Hi, fellow Tucsonan! I'm beginning to think that I picked the right place to live if I'm interested in gemology. Though I will probably never make a career of it, I'll probably start taking some online classes. Thanks for reminding me that they are available!
