Hi,
just a quick note for the relase of my little paper about tourmaline, just click above the image below:
I would say thank you VERY MUCH to all the people who provided for the material: Bruce A. Fry for allow me to display a part of his outstanding collection and Jeffrey Smith who provided for their pictures, Barbra Voltaire, Lisa Elser, Peter Torraca and Roger Dery who released their tourm pictures. Unfortunately (as often happens.. ) my article was shrinked by the magazine's manager (AD rules...) and some of the beautiful images i was given were cutted off..... a real pity, they were really amazing....... Thank you all again!! ciao alberto

In addition to the copper-bearing tourmaline issue, also the silicon-bearing model on the 4th page looks interesting.
(sorry, I couldn't resist...)
LOL, that was an unpredictable addendum i wasn't aware of....and likely the reason why they cutted off 1 page from my article.....well, it seems someone think it was worthwhile...

I'm not saying it was worthwhile... but maybe the editor, after the lot of unique pieces, decided it was a good idea to post a picture of a matched pair too.
(and after this I promise I stop here...)
Anyway the picture of the "rainbow" of tourmalines on the first two pages is absolutely amazing. I wish I could see the whole collection in person.
Also, the article is pleasant to read as well. Hopefully more people will be interested in tourmalines also in Italy. It seems it's definitely not a popular stone here...
